Perry Hansen, Executive Director Perry began his career in property management in 1978. His extensive experience ranges from managing maintenance crews to acting as the Senior Property manager for a well-respected property management firm, overseeing well over 1,500 units of both commercial and residential property for over 30 years. He was responsible for a six million dollar renovation in Edina, Minnesota with positive investment returns for the owner in the resale of a 260 unit building. Perry’s vast experience and knowledge has taught him how to be productive despite changing market conditions and is currently serving as the Executive Director of CPMC for the past 5 years. Perry has also committed his time and efforts at his church/senior housing community, where he holds a Board position. Perry has earned the Minnesota Real Estate Broker's License, Manufactured Home Dealers License CRM, CRMT, Boilers License, Notary and many IREM courses. Perry is also the owner of Home Sales, LLC and the Chairman of the Board of CIC Midwest, a non-profit association dedicated to providing assistance to Common Interest Communities. |

Pierce Stepp, Property Manager Pierce has a Master of Science degree in Anthropology from Minnesota State University, Mankato and a Bachelor of Science Degree in Political Science from Illinois State University. He started working at Common Properties Management Cooperative in the Fall of 2009. During that time, he was working on his Master’s Thesis, entitled “Investing in Cooperation: a descriptive analysis of a Midwestern financial cooperative,” which he finished in Spring of 2010. He specifically examined the values and culture specific to cooperatives. Since then, he has been managing Common Interest Communities, including housing cooperatives. He values the democratic principles that are inherent to cooperatives and other Common Interest Communities and enjoys helping them reach their collective goals. He is also a contributing author for the quarterly publication of the CIC Midwest magazine. Pierce is also a member of the Cooperative Committee of the CIC Midwest. |

Patrick (Pat) Lawton, Financial Assistant. Joining Common Properties Management Cooperative in 2010, as a property manager, he managed nine manufactured home communities. Prior to joining the CPMC team, he ran a small management company that managed seven manufactured home communities for an investor owner. Prior to Property Management, Pat worked as a Home Inspector, certified through the American Society of Home Inspectors. During this period, he also was involved in starting up a program through the Neighborhood Energy Consortium called “HOURCAR”. This was a pilot program that allowed members to reserve energy conscious vehicles on an “as needed” basis. Members were residents of the Twin Cities that relied upon public transportation and/or bicycles as their primary mode of transportation. Other accomplishments: Co-author on numerous scientific studies regarding plant physiology of various tropical fruit plants of the South Pacific, 3 years on the U.S. Army straight out of High School, Pat holds a “Bachelor of Science” degree in Natural Resources and Environmental Studies and a State of Minnesota Finance License for the financing of Manufactured Homes. |

Steve Bystrom, Head Handyman and Maintenance Technician Steve comes to CPMC with many maintenance qualifications and certifications that makes him an invaluable asset in maintaining the properties we manage. He has worked in residential and commercial maintenance, and now heads the maintenance department at Common Properties Management. Steve's strengths include but are not limited to: Management of energy consumption, implementation of preventative maintenance programs, maintenance of building exteriors, parking lot, lighting, landscape, maintain equipment (i.e. heating & cooling, Dectron units, guest rooms, kitchen, laundry, pool, exercise equipment, plumbing, etc.), safety inspections and staff training on safety and emergency procedures, overseeing vendor and builder construction during initial construction, emergency response, MSDS Safety, regular maintenance including electrical repairs, boiler maintenance, plumbing, AC and carpentry, Installing flooring. (i.e. tile, linoleum and carpet.) |
